Get a seven-minute rundown of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's multiplayer

Infinity Ward's plan to keep Call of Duty multiplayer fresh

Developer Infinity Ward is doing its part to mix up the Call of Duty multiplayer formula with the addition of Combat Rigs in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. As seen in a new multiplayer overview video released at Call of Duty XP today, Combat Rigs will offer players six unique customizable play styles — that's in addition to custom weapon loadouts, perks, scorestreaks and the Pick 10 system first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

The six Combat Rigs range from the all-purpose Warfighter to the more specialized Phantom, who can cloak and deals in long-range combat, and the FTL, who utilizes experimental technology based on guerrilla warfare tactics. Each Combat Rigs has its own Payloads, a mix of traits and abilities that offer more gameplay customization options.

Beyond Combat Rigs, Infinite Warfare will also bring weapon crafting to Call of Duty. Players can use salvage they collect in-game to build prototype weapons of common, rare, legendary and epic caliber.

There's much more to be seen in the seven-minute trailer above, which walks Call of Duty fans through the maps, modes and more coming to Infinite Warfare this November (or October, if you pre-order).
