Cuphead is gearing up for release nearly two years after being debuted at E3, and the Polygon team got some time to go hands on with the latest build at this year’s PAX in Seattle.
In the video above, you’ll be able to see just how the run-and-gun game developed by StudioMDHR operates. The gameplay footage, inspired by classic Disney cartoon styles and animations, features a barrage of enemies attacking Cuphead throughout multiple levels. There are also some glimpses into the type of power-ups and items players can buy to use in more challenging stages.
The gameplay footage also shows off co-op mode and some of the bosses that players will encounter as they progress. Some of the them have been shown off before in previous gameplay demos and videos, but for those who have been waiting for this game to come out, this provides a little more insight into how everything fits together.
Cuphead still doesn’t have a release date, but it is expected to launch later this year on Xbox One and Windows PC.
