When Stranger Things first premiered on Netflix earlier this summer, viewers were quick to point out that Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) and Parks & Recreation’s Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz) were practically identical. Last month, both Schwartz and Parks & Rec co-creator Mike Schur told late night host James Corden that the fan theories about Harrington being Jean-Ralphio’s father were absolutely true.
Never one to just let a joke die, Schwartz shared a photo and video of the two meeting for the first time. In the video, which can be seen below, Schwartz can be seen recording himself when, seemingly out of nowhere, Keery appears beside him, wearing an identical outfit.
Schwartz also shared a photo of the two shaving together and captioned it, "Did a lot of growing up today," alluding to the fan theory that the two actually were father and son.
It’s still not clear if Schwartz and Keery set up the mini-shoot for an actual video or if the two just wanted to come together to break the Internet and cause havoc within the fan forums, but either way, it’s pretty clear that this joke doesn’t have an expiry date on it just yet.
Stranger Things, which according to multiple analyst firms has become one of Netflix’s most watched original shows, was recently renewed for a second season. It will premiere in Spring 2017.
