Stranger Things’ Steve and Parks and Rec’s Jean-Ralphio sit down for first TV interview

No, the joke isn’t dead yet

It’s been a whirlwind of excitement these past couple of weeks for Stranger Things and Parks and Recreation fans. First actor Ben Schwartz, who plays Jean-Ralphio on Parks and Rec, confirmed that Steve Harrington, played by Joe Keery, from Stranger Things was actually his father. A week later, Schwartz posted a couple of photos and videos of he and Keery together looking eerily identical.

Now, in a new digital short produced by James Corden, the two sit down with a reporter from Entertainment Tonight to talk about the fan theory about Jean-Ralphio’s actual parentage. In the video, the two mimic each other’s movements, participate in a secrete handshake they didn’t even know about and, after talking about the ridiculous nature of the theory, learn the haunting truth that the fan theories are correct.

The video ends on a heartwarming, tender moment where the two decide to bond with each other, catching up for lost time. Keery teaches Schwartz how to shave, knot a tie and even helps him with his first shot of whisky.

Hopefully this puts to bed any doubts that some fans may have had about the rumor, and to a much larger extent, means the joke is finally over. Stranger Things returns for a second season next year and questions have started to pop up over whether Schwartz will make a cameo in the show.
