We’ve known for a few weeks that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s upcoming multiplayer beta would be available early on PlayStation 4, and now we know how early: Publisher Activision announced today that the beta won’t launch on Xbox One until a week after it goes live on PS4.
The Infinite Warfare beta will debut Friday, Oct. 14, on PS4 at 10 a.m. PT. Exactly one week later, at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, Xbox One players will be able to jump into the fray. Developer Infinity Ward will conclude beta testing at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, which means that PS4 customers will get 10 days with the beta while Xbox One owners will only get three.

Last year, PS4 players had five days of exclusive access to the beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Sony announced at E3 2015 that it had signed a deal with Activision to secure exclusive content and early access for Call of Duty titles on PlayStation platforms.
Infinite Warfare’s beta will be released only on PS4 and Xbox One, not Windows PC, although the full game is coming to all three platforms. At the moment, the only way to get access to the beta is to pre-order Infinite Warfare from a participating retailer; customers can confirm their access on the beta website. Activision said today that it plans to announce the content in the beta "in the coming weeks."
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is set for release Nov. 4 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Activision announced during PlayStation Meeting 2016 earlier this month that both Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will support the PlayStation 4 Pro when the console launches Nov. 10, and that last year’s Black Ops 3 will be updated for the system.
