Amazon's latest round of tryouts for pilots hoping to land a series is over, and Ben Edlund's revival of The Tick has won a full season order

The company announced today that The Tick, whose pilot has been viewed more than 15,000 times since it became available last month, would receive a 10-episode full season. The show will be available exclusively for Amazon Prime subscribers in the United States, England, Japan, Germany and Austria in 2017, but Amazon has not confirmed whether it will be earlier in the year or later.

The show stars Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy) as the iconic blue-eared superhero and Griffin Newman as Arthur Everest, the Tick’s loyal sidekick. The show is based on Edlund’s cult hit of the same name and the Amazon series marks the third time a television series centering on the character has been made.

Unlike the previous Tick series that aired on Fox between the late ‘90s and early aughts, the new series is far more dramatic than it is satirical. In an interview with Polygon, Edlund said that he wanted to focus on the human drama and relationships that the Tick and Arthur develop instead of just making it a comedy.

The Tick’s pilot is currently available to stream right now, along with the other pilots from Amazon’s class of 2016, on Prime.
