There are already a couple of villains that have been revealed for Spider-Man: Homecoming, the first feature-length Spider-Man movie in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, but thanks to new set photos, another has been confirmed.
Warning: The rest of this post will contain spoilers for characters appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Based on set photos tweeted this weekend, it looks like Shocker is joining Vulture and Tinkerer. Shocker isn’t one of the more well-recognized villains in Spider-Man, but he is a member of the Sinister Six team made up of other Spider-Man enemies. It’s unclear just how big of a role Shocker will have in the movie, especially with two other villains already being introduced, but it looks like he’ll definitely be giving Peter Parker a headache.

Originally introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man #46 back in March of 1967, Shocker (otherwise known as Herman Schultz) was a brilliant man with a keen eye for engineering and inventing. He dropped out of his New York City high school, however, and instead of deciding to use his skills to pursue a legitimate career of some kind, he became a burglar and one of the world’s most successful safe crackers.
It was during one of his bank heists that he meets Spider-Man for the first time, and while defeating the web-slinging hero during their first confrontation, Spider-Man did eventually manage to defeat and send him to jail.
Neither Sony nor Marvel has confirmed or denied that Shocker will be in the film, but Polygon has reached out for comment and will update when more information becomes available.
Spider-Man: Homecoming, which stars Tom Holland as the titular superhero, is slated to be released June 7, 2017.
