The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was on display at the Nintendo Switch event today. Here we’ve put together 17 minutes of raw gameplay, showcasing the game’s beautiful open world.
From our starting point at Great Plateau Tower, we set off toward adventure.
Wild horses roam the land. Link is able to tame them and ride them. A wild horse can be registered and named at a stable. Check out our sick horse-catching strat at 4:00, which uses a hang glider in unexpected ways.
We also explore a shrine that features a wind puzzle which is navigable using the hang glider. Don’t worry, there’s no spoilers here beyond the first couple minutes of the shrine.
As is the way of Zelda games, Breath of the Wild features some delightful exploding barrels. Link also has bomb arrows, and we have maybe too much fun with both of these.
One of the most-commented on aspects of our early Breath of the Wild gameplay from E3 2016 was that there was no ambient music. Zelda fans should be happy to note that music has now been added to the game.
