Fire Emblem Warriors will launch on 3DS, too

Hack and slash through them later this fall

Fire Emblem Warriors, the upcoming Switch hack-and-slash game from Koei Tecmo, is also coming to Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo confirmed that the game will head to both systems during a Fire Emblem-centric livestream this evening. Both versions of the game are due out later this fall, according to Nintendo.

Fire Emblem Warriors stars several characters from the Fire Emblem world, as Nintendo showed in its debut trailer last week. Fire Emblem Warriors is Nintendo’s second collaboration with Koei Tecmo, following Hyrule Warriors. The Wii U game mashed up Koei Tecmo’s musou gameplay with the cast of The Legend of Zelda; it was later ported to Nintendo 3DS.

Also heading to Switch is an entirely new Fire Emblem installment, although Nintendo offered no details beyond a 2018 release window. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is due out on Nintendo 3DS May 19, however, so fans of the franchise won’t have to wait much longer for a new entry in the series.
