Plus, Bill Hader’s Alpha 5

The official trailer for Lionsgate’s Power Rangers movie is here, and with it, the first looks at Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Banks and Bill Hader’s characters.

Lionsgate released a teaser trailer for the movie during New York Comic Con in October, which introduced the five new Power Rangers. Although the trailer hinted at Repulsa and showed the five high school students meeting for the first time, it didn’t provide any details as to what the story was about.

In the new trailer, Repulsa makes her screen debut, and with it, comes a little bit more backstory about how the Power Rangers came together in the first place. Like any good superhero-type movie, the trailer includes scenes of the Rangers discovering they’ve stumbled onto a secret power that’s given them superhuman strength. If the original trailer was about who the Power Rangers are as teenagers, the new trailer is about how they exist as a group of superhuman defenders.

Those looking for their first glance at Zordon, the floating head played by Bryan Cranston, and Alpha 5, the adorable robot voiced by Bill Hader, you’re in luck. Although there are only minor glimpses, the trailer finally reveals what both characters will look like. There are certainly aspects of each character that pays homage to the original versions from the TV series, but they’ve also received the modern treatment.

Oh, and there’s also a quick look at what the climactic battle between Goldar and Megazord will look like at the end of the trailer.

Power Rangers will be released on March 24, 2017.
