Every year just before the Oscars, Hollywood’s worst movies of the year are honored at the Razzies. This year, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zoolander 2 are the top nominated films, earning potential awards for just how abysmal they were.
Batman v Superman, which reportedly left star Ben Affleck feeling humiliated, earned eight Razzie nominations, including Worst Picture, Worst Actor for both Affleck and Henry Cavill and Worst Screen Combo for both their performances. Jesse Eisenberg who played Lex Luthor, also earned a nomination for Worst Supporting Actor. Not to feel left out, Zack Snyder pulled a nomination for Worst Director, and the screenplay got a special nomination nod for being especially horrible.
It shouldn’t come as a big surprise that Batman v Superman would earn top nominations from the Razzies considering just how poorly it was received by critics upon release. The film is sitting at a 27 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been mocked for many of its scenes, including the infamous moment both Batman and Superman realized their mothers were both named Martha.
Zoolander 2, BOO! A Medea Halloween and Gods of Egypt are some other notable titles that received a few nominations.
The winners will be announced on Feb. 25, just before the Oscars are handed out on Feb. 26. The full list of nominees can be seen below.
