Hitman adds Professional Difficulty in next update

Coming Jan. 31

Hitman Io Interactive/Square Enix

Hitman's next update, coming Jan. 31, will deliver a new difficulty level, Professional, Io Interactive announced this morning. The new content is free.

Intended for skilled players looking for a challenge on a replay, Professional Difficulty only becomes available after reaching Mastery Level 20 for a specific location. The difficulty setting introduces restrictions and enhancements regarding item availability and use, advanced AI in enemies and security cameras, limited saves and a new set of rewards.

Hitman's leaderboards will be segmented by difficulty level once Professional Difficulty is introduced. Professional Difficulty is available for all story missions in Season One, except for the prologue. However, live content such as Elusive Targets and Escalation Targets will only be available on the original difficulty level.

Hitman launched in an episodic format beginning in March 2016. The entire first season will be available on disc at retail stores on Jan. 31, for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. The game launches with a steelbook case and costs $59.99 for the consoles, $49.99 on PC.
