Fans anxiously awaiting to find out just what Thor: Ragnarok is about can rest assured now that the movie’s official synopsis is here. Disney released a package looking at its slate of films in 2017 and provided the details for each, including the synopsis for Thor: Ragnarok, which can be seen in the image below.

[Warning: The following contains basic information about the movie’s plot. Although there aren’t any major spoilers, for those looking to go in without any information about the movie, you might want to stop reading now.]

For a clearer look at the text included in the synopsis:

In Marvel Studios’ ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok — the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization — at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger — the Incredible Hulk!

Despite the tense nature of Hulk and Thor’s reunion, director Taika Waititi told Polygon last year that the film features “buddy elements” between the two characters. Prior to that interview, rumors had floated around that Thor: Ragnarok would feel more like a buddy-comedy, focusing on the strained companionship between Thor and the Hulk, but Waititi hasn’t confirmed those rumors.

Based on the description, it sounds like the film will be taking some of its cues from Marvel’s Planet Hulk series, especially when it comes to the gladiatorial battles in outer space. There isn’t too much else known about the film other than Loki will return, and it will introduce the Grandmaster, one of the Elders of the Universe.

Thor: Ragnarok is the third Marvel movie slated to be released this year, following Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 in May and Spider-Man: Homecoming in July. It will be released on Nov. 3, 2017.
