Stranger Things season 2 final trailer puts the fate of Hawkins in Will Byers’ hands

It’s almost here

Netflix is ushering in the final trailer for Stranger Things 2 on Friday the 13th before the show’s sophomore season debuts at the end of the month.

The trailer, seen above, provides a few more clues as to what’s in store for the residents of Hawkins, Indiana. The first season of Stranger Things ended with Will Byers returning from the Upside Down, reunited with his family. But he had brought the Upside Down back with him, opening a portal between his world and the next.

Details about the second season have been scarce, but multiple members of the cast and the show’s creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, have said it will be scarier than the first. The season will lean more heavily into the supernatural monsters that haunt Hawkins, instead of relying on the heavier science fiction themes prevalent throughout the first.

Netflix released a short teaser for the Stranger Things 2 trailer on Twitter yesterday, cutting together a couple of clips to hint at what people could expect.

Stranger Things 2 will debut on Oct. 27.

Correction: The Duffer Brothers, the creators of Stranger Things, are Matt and Ross Duffer, not Matt and Russ Duffer. We’ve edited the article to reflect this.
