The Evil Within 2 guide: Chapter 2 collectibles

Something Not Quite Right (one slide and five files)

The Evil Within 2, like any open-world game, is full of things to discover, seek out, find and collect. Some of them are useful, like ammo pouches or locker key statues (those knee-high statues scattered around). These get you something immediately(ish) helpful in your journey through Union. The other things you can pick up are just purely collectible. They’re not useful except to satisfy your completionist urges.

In this guide, we’ll show you where to find the collectibles in The Evil Within 2’s second chapter.

Chapter 2 ‘Something Not Quite Right’ collectible locations

The Evil Within 2 Chapter 2 has one slide and five files to pick up. To make finding them easy, we’ve included an image of the collectible as you’ll see it in the game as well as a screenshot of the map (when there’s a map to show you).

Slides

Slides are photographs that trigger conversations. Like the below, they don’t directly impact the main storyline, but they do add some color the world of The Evil Within 2.

Happier Times

The first slide you pick up in the game is really hard to miss. It’s on the table in Sebastian’s office right next to the cat you can’t pet.

Files

Files add context to the story of The Evil Within 2. The stories the files tell don’t directly impact the main storyline, but they paint a more detailed picture.

Due to the … non-Euclidian nature of the Strange Domain (the photo gallery hotel you find yourself in), maps don’t exist for this area, but the collectibles are all along or close to the path you have to take.

When you discover your first body/work of art in the Strange Domain, there’s a darkroom directly behind you. The photo is on the counter next to the sink.

Extravagant Letter

Not long after, you’ll make your way up to the second floor. Turn to the left and duck under the half-closed gate. The letter is on the table ahead of you.

Photo of Another Victim

Another floor up and through a The Cell-inspired room, you’ll end up in another stairwell/lobby area. Down the hallway to your left, you’ll see a gigantic eye watching through the window. Down the one on your right, a body will get dragged into one of the rooms. Fight your instincts and head into that room. Climb over the table barricade to find the next photo on the table in the back left corner.

Journal in Abandoned House

A while later, after a lot of excitement, you’ll end up on the outskirts of Union in an abandoned house. Leave the bedroom and go down the hallway toward the table ahead of you — where you’ll pick up your first medical syringe. When you get to the room, u-turn to your left to find another room. The journal is on the chest of drawers against the back wall.

This one is the easiest — Sebastian automatically remembers that it’s in his pocket when you leave the abandoned house.
