The Evil Within 2, like any open-world game, is full of things to discover, seek out, find and collect. Some of them are useful, like ammo pouches or locker key statues (those knee-high statues scattered around). These get you something immediately(ish) helpful in your journey through Union. The other things you can pick up are just purely collectible. They’re not useful except to satisfy your completionist urges.
In this guide, we’ll show you where to find the collectibles in The Evil Within 2’s third chapter.
Chapter 3 ‘Resonances’ collectible locations
The Evil Within 2 Chapter 3 has eight files, two slides, and three mysterious objects to pick up. To make finding them easy, we’ve included an image of the collectible as you’ll see it in the game as well as a screenshot of the map (when there’s a map to show you).
Files
Files add context to the story of The Evil Within 2. The stories the files tell don’t directly impact the main storyline, but they paint a more detailed picture.
Welcome to Union Pamphlet
Just across the street from O’Neal’s safe house — and a little to the left — is the Union Visitor Center. The pamphlet is on the counter in the back.
Turner’s Communicator Log

On a subsequent visit to the Union Visitor Center during a residual memory, you’ll be able to get to the basement. After you watch the memory, you’ll find the communicator on the desk.
Mobius Communicator Log: Replacement Parts
Right next door on the west side of the Union Visitor Center is another large building. There are stairs and a ladder up to the roof between it and the Union Visitor Center. There are several things to pick up among the dead Mobius operatives, including a communicator log.
Report #00592: Disposal Request
Once you open up the underground passage in Union Auto Repair, you’ll find this file in the room on the right of the hallway (opposite the room with the keycode).
The next few collectibles are all along Cedar Ave., the north-south road on the far east of Union. We’ll put the addresses in the descriptions because they pop up when you walk inside.
Woman’s Journal
This journal is sitting on the table inside the bedroom of 336 Cedar Ave. After your nightmarish vision memory-thing, you’ll find the Fire Article slide in the same place.
KCPD Request for Psychological Examination
A little farther to the north is 345 Cedar Ave. — it’s the last house on the right. It’s set a little back from the road, so make sure you don’t miss it. Go through the front rooms and into the hallway at the back and then turn left. The file is on the hospital gurney (totally normal) in the garage.
Torn Psychological Evaluation Report
This file only appears after you find the Psychological Examination above and then go to the living room to turn off the television. It’ll be sitting on the bedside table in the bedroom on the right side of the house.
Picking it up will trigger another vision that will result in finding the Beacon Hospital slide below.
Report #00654: Core Displacement
You’ll probably end up in the same room as this file as you wrap up the main story of Chapter 3. On the second floor of Tredwell Trucking, there’s a room with a workbench. The file is on a counter on the left side.
Slides
Slides are photographs that trigger conversations. They don’t directly impact the main storyline, but they do add some color the world of The Evil Within 2.

In 345 Cedar Ave., you’ll pick up a couple files. The second one, the Torn Psychological Evaluation Report, will trigger a vision. At the end of the vision, you’ll walk down a long hallway with a wheelchair at the end. The slide is sitting on the seat of the wheelchair.
Fire Article

After you pick up the Woman’s Journal (see above) and survive your vision, you’ll find yourself back in the bedroom of 336 Cedar Ave. The slide is on the table, exactly where the journal was.
Mysterious objects
The eight mysterious objects you can find as you play The Evil Within 2 are a more pure collectible. They don’t have anything to do with the game, and they don’t even show up in your menus. They’re fun to find, though, because they are references to other games.
Mysterious mask
On the far west side of Union, there’s a pair of derailed train cars. Between them, there is an upside-down van. Turn left from the van and go into the second car from the end of the lefthand train. The mask is on a bench at the very front.
Mysterious weapon replica
Almost all the way up Cedar Ave. on the far east side of Union is the Szilard House Inn. (It’s easy to spot because it looks like a fancy hotel from the outside). On the south side of the inn, there is a shed next to a chainlink fence. Climb onto the shed, then cross to the next roof along the wooden planks. The weapon replica is on the front left corner of the roof.
Mysterious machine
The mysterious machine is in a truck in the lot behind Tredwell Trucking. It’s the truck closest to the garage door that you open to close out the events of Chapter 3. Inside the truck, head all the way to the front. The machine is on the floor behind the crate.
