The Evil Within 2 guide: Chapter 13 collectibles

Stronghold in the Business District

The Evil Within 2 is full of things to discover, seek out, find and collect. Some of them are useful, like ammo pouches or locker key statues. These get you something immediately(ish) helpful in your journey. The other things you can pick up are just purely collectible. They’re not useful except to satisfy your completionist urges.

In this guide, we’ll show you where to find the collectibles in The Evil Within 2’s 13th chapter, “Stronghold.”

Chapter 13 ‘Stronghold’ collectible locations

“Stronghold” is another open-world level, not in the Grand Theft Auto tradition of an entire city, but in the sense that you can travel freely throughout the Business District. We’ve organized our collectibles guide to take you on a path from where you begin in the northeast to where you’ll end at the hotel.

To make finding items easy, we’ve included an image of the collectible as you’ll see it in the game as well as a screenshot of the map (when there’s a map to show you).

Locker key statue

You’ll begin the chapter in a safe house. Exit the interior door, and head across the hallway to where a body lies. Turn around. In the corner opposite the body is a statue to destroy (and a key to collect).

Enter the Juke Diner from the north (which is the back door). Turn left around the first corner, and open the bathroom door. Look up and shoot the locker key statue sitting on a shelf. (Beware of the flamethrower dude who will suddenly becomes super interested in the diner after you enter so either be prepared to fight or run. There’s good reason to stick around and look for items here, too.)

Locker key statue

In the center of town, at the intersection near The Devil’s Own Taproom, there’s a statue perched on a pole between two streetlights. The only problem is eliminating the enemies who surround it.

Locker key statue

Walk into The Devil’s Own Taproom and head through the door at the far end of the room. Turn right, and the statue is on the floor at the far end of this room.

In the parking lot in the center of town, just outside of Sykes’ safe house, there’s a collapsed building. The statue is amid the rubble, surrounded by candles.

Photographic slide

You’ll have to play Sykes’ side mission, “The Last Step,” to find this slide. (And it’s only available if you’ve completed his previous side missions.) After helping Sykes, enter the room where he was when he disappeared. The slide is on a cart near the bathtub-looking pod. (You’ll also find the double-barreled shotgun in a Mobius crate in the same room.)

Message from Sykes

After completing “The Last Mission,” you’ll find a file on Sykes’ desk in his safe house (where he used to sit).

Sniper rifle ammo pouch

While not technically a collectible, you can find this through a resonant memory. It’s just around the corner from Sykes’ safe house.

Assault rifle ammo pouch

Exit The Devil’s Own Taproom and turn left. Turn left again down the alley nearby. Hug the left wall, and turn left again to find a Mobius operative corpse. Loot the body for an upgrade.

Assault rifle ammo pouch

In an alleyway behind the Sanctuary Hotel, you’ll find a fallen Mobius operative. Loot the corpse for an upgrade.

Storage room key

In the far southwestern corner of the business district, you’ll find a large alley west. Not only is there an absurd amount of items to pick up, but at the end of the alley, you’ll find a fallen Mobius operative who holds the storage room key. It opens a door in a building next to the Postage Plus office, which is the safe house where you first entered The Evil Within 2’s business district.

Inside the storage room, you’ll find a Mobius crate with three high grade weapon parts (and another on a table in the back) as well as the full-barreled shotgun in a crate in the back. It’s basically a long(er) ranged shotgun.

Mysterious Action Figure

In the same alleyway where you can find the storage room key, check a dumpster near where you got the key. Jump up and in, and you’ll find one of the game’s pure collectibles a Mysterious Action Figure (which is totally a Doom reference because both games share a publisher in Bethesda).

Mysterious Mug and Hoffman’s Journal

Inside the hotel (after the cutscene, but before you speak to Hoffman to begin the next part of the game), search behind the desk in the lobby to find the Mysterious Mug (a Prey reference) and the bag on the coffee table in front of the fireplace to find Hoffman’s Journal.
