Papers, Please gets a short movie adaptation and a trailer

Papers, Please, the acclaimed, dystopian puzzle game in which a bureaucrat struggles with the inhumanity of processing immigrants at a border crossing, is getting adapted into a short film. Here is its first trailer.

First announced back in late May, the film is by Nikita and Liliya Ordynskiy. In it, the protagonist struggles through the responsibility of his job, which is in a totalitarian, fictitious Eastern Bloc country, and his compassions for the people he processes.

We’ve thought highly of Papers, Please since creator Lucas Pope launched it back in 2013. It won two awards at the 2014 Independent Games Festival and another at the 2014 BAFTA Video Games Awards.
