Jessica Jones season 2 slated for 2018, tweets Krysten Ritter

The series was filmed back-to-back with The Defenders

Netflix

The latest update on Jessica Jones’ long-awaited second season isn’t surprising — but it’ll be welcome to fans. Series star Krysten Ritter tweeted out a new poster for the season today, confirming that the new season will hit Netflix in 2018.

Buzz around a potential second season for the show erupted almost immediately after its November 2015 premiere. Series showrunner Melissa Rosenberg cautioned fans that they might have to wait a while, at least until after The Defenders. A second season was officially announced in January of 2016, and it was filmed back to back with The Defenders.

Given that timeframe, it’s unsurprising that the show would be aiming for a 2018 release date — not least because The Punisher is due to hit Netflix screens before the end of the year. But if season two of Jessica Jones wrapped production last month, maybe we’ll be getting it quite quickly indeed.
