Attack on Titan season 3 to premiere in July 2018

Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan will return for its third season in Japan sometime in July 2018, according to Anime News Network.

The announcement was made on Sunday during a live concert event for the series in Tokyo. The event also confirmed that a new compilation movie, The Roar of Awakening, would arrive in January 2018, followed by the show’s third season.

Attack on Titan’s third season was confirmed with a 15-second teaser posted by Funimation, which carries the series in North America, following the second season’s finale earlier this year. The teaser didn’t include any new footage, but did provide illustrated hints of what was to come next season.

Prior to Attack on Titan’s season two premiere, Funimation released the series’ first two recap movies, Guren no Yumiya and Jiyuu no Tsubasa in theaters. It’s unclear if Funimation plans to do the same thing for Attack on Titan’s third season. Polygon has reached out for more information and will update when that becomes available.
