Today, during Sony’s Paris Games Week 2017 presentation, Sony announced the first piece of downloadable content for Sledgehammer’s Call of Duty: World War II. Called The Resistance, it will arrive Jan. 30, 2018 and will be coming first to PlayStation 4.

The release date for other platforms, including Windows PC and Xbox One, is not known at this time.
Not much is known either about the module, including whether it includes any single-player campaign content. Its reveal followed a new multiplayer trailer highlighting the game’s interpretation of the historic battle at Carentan during the Allied invasion of Normandy. A map was shown prior to the title card, and indicated that action will take place in France, Poland and Czechoslovakia.

All three were hotbeds of resistance activity, including sabotage, assassination and guerrilla warfare. Fighters there were supported by Allied forces directly, with the help of special forces smuggled into the country, and by supplies dropped from the air by allied forces.
