A 30-second teaser for Deadpool 2 is here, but it’s the tribute to Bob Ross’ The Joy of Painting that deserves the biggest shoutout.
The teaser, which can be seen above, begins with Deadpool in Ross’ famous painting apparel. A pair of blue jeans, white shirt and a head full of hair dons Deadpool’s costumed body as the mercenary softly speaks about what he’s painting. It’s only when the painting goes awry and a disfigured Deadpool blot appears on the canvas that we get a new Deadpool 2 tease.
Josh Brolin’s Cable, Negasonic Teenage Warhead in a traditional X-Men suit and Deadpool’s favorite blind landlord, Blind Al, are all present in the teaser. We don’t get to see much of Cable in action, but there is one quick scene featuring Brolin running through the streets, screaming. With Deadpool popping out of a coffin and our first look at Hunt for the Wilderpeople’s Julian Dennison in action, the teaser is packed with interesting clips — it just moves very quickly.
The “official Deadpool 2 synopsis,” according to an email from Fox, is as follows:
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry's hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor - finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World's Best Lover.
Deadpool 2 is slated to be released on June 1, 2018.
