The Surge’s new expansion has you fight murderous theme park mascots

Take a peek at A Walk in the Park

Action role-playing game The Surge is sending players to a corrupted amusement park with next month’s expansion, A Walk in the Park. The expansion’s name certainly appears to contradict the hellish experience of visiting the park, which was built by the same company behind the industrial complex in the original game.

A Walk in the Park takes place in CREO World, an amusement park built for the employees and families of CREO. The park, in its twisted post-apocalyptic state, is inhabited by crazed rescue teams and deadly robotic mascots, some of which you can see in the teaser trailer above.

Publisher Focus Home Interactive describes CREO World as a “radically different setting from the rest of the complex, full of branching paths and secrets to discover.” The expansion will include 16 new weapons, sets of armor and implants that will let players further customize their character.

The Surge: A Walk in the Park will be released on Dec. 5 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. A “Complete Edition” of The Surge will be released on the same day. It will include the full game, A Walk in the Park and the rest of the game’s downloadable content.
