The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will receive a new side quest and bonus content inspired by Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Nintendo announced during a Direct presentation inspired by the upcoming Switch game.
Beginning this Thursday, Nov. 9, Breath of the Wild players will be able to embark upon a special mission that will unlock a new costume for Link. That outfit is inspired by Rex, the hero of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. This is a free update for Breath of the Wild, which should sweeten the deal for those looking for more things to do in the game.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will also benefit from additional quests and content as the months wear on. Nintendo announced that the game will receive an expansion pass, similar to Breath of the Wild’s own downloadable content package. Beginning this December, after the game launches, players will be able to unlock new items. The whole tentative schedule is below — notice that an entire new “story and adventure” will be added in Autumn 2018.

Also of note: Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s Japanese-language voice track will be available as a free download on launch day, if you’d rather play the game with its original voice acting.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the follow-up to Wii and New Nintendo 3DS’ critically acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicles, will launch Dec. 1 as a Nintendo Switch exclusive.
Update: The expansion pass will cost $29.99, Nintendo revealed in a press release.
