Day one of the ECS Season 4 Finals has come to a close and after a very funny — and slightly tipsy — broadcast, we now know which teams will be advancing straight the semifinals and who will have to battle it out in day two’s fight for survival.
The first match of the day will feature the two losing teams from each group’s day one action in a best-of-three match. The winners of those two series then face the group’s second place teams, OpTic Gaming and FaZe Clan. Any team that loses a series today is eliminated from the tournament.
Day two of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, ECS Season 4 Finals will kick off at 9:15 a.m. EST. The event will be broadcast live from the Hard Rock Hotel in Cancun, Mexico on FaceIt’s YouTube channel.
Why you should watch
With the best teams in both groups already locked into the semifinals, day two is set up for some extremely close elimination series.
Group A was pretty one-sided during the first day of competition at the ECS Season 4 Finals, with Fnatic breezing by every team they faced. But with the day’s matchups centering around Mousesports, OpTic Gaming and Luminosity, there’s plenty of room for one of these teams to set themselves apart from the pack.
Meanwhile, every match of Group B has come down to the wire so far, with no team holding their opponent below ten round wins. With each team looking like a strong competitor, the first day two series, an American showdown between Cloud9 and Team Liquid, should be perfect warm up before one of them has to take on a FaZe Clan.
Luminosity vs Mousesports, 9:15 a.m. EST
Cloud9 vs Team Liquid, 12:15 p.m. EST
OpTic Gaming vs TBD, 3:15 p.m. EST
FaZe Clan vs TBD, 5:15 p.m. EST
