Steam Winter Sale 2017 goes live alongside Steam Awards voting

Start gifting some cheap games to your friends and to yourself

Valve launched its annual Steam Winter Sale today, kicking off two weeks of discounts to give shoppers some last-minute holiday gift opportunities. From now until 1 p.m. ET on Jan. 4, 2018, some of the year’s biggest games are on sale, alongside other must-play titles.

Several of the games on sale are also up for Steam’s top honor: a Steam Award. The second annual Steam Awards will run for the length of the Winter Sale, giving fans a chance to cast votes on popular games in a number of unique categories. Kicking things off today is the “Choices Matter” award, which features five nominees that go heavy on the tough decisions.

That means that games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Life is Strange: Before the Storm are not only on sale, but also on the cusp of earning a nice accolade. Other award-winning (or award-worthy) games to check out during the sale including Hellblade: Senuas Sacrifice, Assassin’s Creed Origins, SteamWorld Dig 2, Prey and Cuphead.

Check out the rest of the discounts on the Steam Store.
