Electronic Arts and DICE are beginning to roll out changes to Star Wars Battlefront 2’s progression and in-game economy systems, as promised just before launch. An update is now live in the game that alters the amount of credits, the game’s currency system, that players win in various modes.
“Today, an update went live that includes some adjustments to the economy and progression,” wrote DICE on the Star Wars Battlefront 2 blog. “While these are only some initial steps toward making much larger changes, some of these are ready to roll, and are available starting today.”
Included in the first round of changes to the game’s economy are the number of credits that players win at the end of a round, credits earned each day in Arcade Mode and the amount of crafting parts earned from each daily login crate.
The most successful players will especially see bigger buffs in credit drops thanks to the end-of-round payout increase, DICE said. But all players stand to benefit from the Arcade Mode increase (which had been capped at 500 credits per day) and daily login crate drops.
“It's been made clear that you were hitting the Arcade Mode Credit cap faster than we expected, so we wanted to alleviate that by increasing it to 1500 Credits,” according to the post. “While we're still looking into ways to add more content into it the mode in the long-term, we think that this should help in the near-term for those who want rewards for completing the different scenarios.”
Increasing the amount of crafting parts obtained from daily login crates will also help players to make more Star Cards, the post noted. This will be especially useful for those who want to progress further and faster, as Star Cards are the necessary components to promote your characters’ abilities, weapons and gear.
There will be more changes to Battlefront 2’s economy and progression system to come over the next few weeks. These initial three updates are the first of what the developer calls “much larger changes” to the heavily criticized initial setup for obtaining loot and leveling up characters.
