Watch the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ESL Season 6 group stage finale here

The underdogs surprised on day one, but which ones will escape the group stage on day two?

The first day of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ESL Pro League Season 6 Finals is in the books and after almost 12 hours of matches, the standings turned out to be anything but predictable.

With some of the most unexpected teams sitting at the top of the standings, and some tournament favorites threatening to drop out before the bracket stage, the tournament’s second day will include plenty of excitement and heartache no matter which way the games go.

Day two of the ESL Pro League Season 6 Finals starts Wednesday, Dec 6, at 6 a.m. EST, live from the Sparekassan Fyn Arena in Odense, Denmark. The games can all be seen on either ESL’s main stream or the secondary stream, here.

Why you should watch

Coming into today, Fnatic was ranked 12th, Hellraisers was ranked 22nd and Misfits was ranked 23rd, at the end of the day, those three teams have the best records in the tournament. In other words, Tuesday’s Pro League results couldn’t have been more surprising.

The day started with a shocking upset win by Fnatic, who took down FaZe Clan in overtime on Inferno. What seemed like a possible fluke turned out to be the trend of the day, with favorites Astralis, SK Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas all suffering unexpected losses.

With so many of the underdogs sitting in the top places, day two is going to see some of Counter Strike: Global Offensive’s best players backed into a corner and forced to play at the top of their game for every remaining match. Even one slip up could be enough to send some of the world’s best teams home from the tournament early.
