PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will leave Early Access Dec. 20

Trailer showed off first gameplay in new desert map, Miramar

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, the multiplayer survival shooter that has dominated both Steam and Twitch throughout 2017, is coming out of Early Access on Dec. 20, fulfilling promises from its developer that it would reach full release status before the end of the year.

But, before it does, the team at PUBG Corp. are adding a new map. It’s called Miramar, and it was shown in motion for the first time Thursday night during The Game Awards.

Miramar is supposedly smaller than Erangel, Battlegrounds’ original map. It features a mix of urban and rural areas, as well some very tall buildings. You can see some still images in the gallery below.

Miramar is rolling out to the Battlegrounds public test servers tonight at 12 a.m. PT/ 3 a.m. ET.

Battleground’s full release, called 1.0, was snuck into two trailers shown during the TGAs. You can see more detailed screenshots of Miramar in the gallery below.
