Fans have been anxiously waiting for their first look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi and it appears that Friday, April 14 may be the day that happens.
During Lucasfilm’s Star Wars YouTube show, the company confirmed that director Rian Johnson would be joining CEO Kathleen Kennedy on stage for a discussion about the upcoming movie. Although Lucasfilm didn’t specifically say this is when the first trailer for The Last Jedi would be premiering, it does line up with Kennedy’s prior comments about when fans could expect their first look

Disney confirmed in January the eighth film in the main franchise would be called The Last Jedi, which led to speculation from fans about what the title could mean. Since then, Johnson and cast members like Daisy Ridley have been inundated with questions from fans and co-stars on other films.
Johnson hasn’t said much about the project, but did confirm it would be inline with the original trilogy. In an interview with USA Today, Johnson added that the movie would address what’s been happening with Luke Skywalker since he disappeared, with the eighth film picking up where Star Wars: The Force Awakens left off.
“I’m approaching it with a take that I hope feels honest and real and is going to be interesting to folks and make sense,” Johnson said.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released on Dec. 15. Star Wars Celebration takes place between April 13 and 16 in Orlando, Florida.
