Final Fantasy 14 comes to life with escape room later this year

Are you prepared for the trials of Bahamut?

An escape-the-room game based on Final Fantasy 14 will open up nationwide this summer. Produced by Scrap Entertainment, the live-action experience will give fans of the multiplayer online game a chance to contend with its villains in the real world.

The event is called “Trials of Bahamut,” and it will involve six players solving puzzles to defeat the eponymous evil dragon before the clock runs out.

“Bahamut, believed to have long since perished, is secretly being revived deep within a subterranean ruin,” Scrap Entertainment explains on the game’s website. “The time remaining until his awakening: 60 minutes.”

Final Fantasy 14: Trials of Bahamut” will stop by a handful of cities on both coasts, including Los Angeles, Phoenix, Orlando and New York. All dates and details are listed as “coming soon.”

Scrap Entertainment is behind other escape room adaptations of popular games. Its latest is one based on The Legend of Zelda, which just opened up in San Francisco and will expand eastward throughout the spring. The group also brought the Zero Escape franchise, which is a video game version of the popular escape room entertainment genre, to real life in 2016.
