You’re probably not invited

After a multi-city tour, to show off the capabilities of the new Nintendo Switch console, Nintendo has one more publicity stunt up its sleeve. The Big N is bringing a portable living room (seen above) to pop-up locations in the California desert, a Colorado ski slope, and Manhattan’s Madison Square Park.

To showcase this unprecedented new style of console gaming on the go, Nintendo is showcasing the versatility of Nintendo Switch across the country with highly visual, interactive living room-inspired spaces in places you would never expect, bringing surprises to every stop.

If you missed the tour, really want to play the Switch, and happen to find yourself capable of making one of these very selective events, well ... here are the details.

  • Blue Cloud Movie Ranch / Santa Clarita, CA (Feb. 23): This invite-only event features a potent combination of WWE’s John Cena, YouTube influencers and invited fans. If your name isn’t John Cena, if you’re not a YouTube influencer (ask your agent) and if you don’t currently have an invite from Nintendo ... this event probably isn’t for you.
  • Snowmass ski resort / Aspen, CO (Feb. 27): This open to the public event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. MT, and will apparently be on an actual mountain, according to the PR text above.
  • Madison Square Park, New York, NY (Mar. 3): This open to the public event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Flatiron Plaza, just off Madison Square Park. Since this is release day, everyone there will know that you didn’t preorder one and — even if they don’t say anything — they’ll be silently judging you.
