John Boyega’s Instagram account has been ripe with interesting set photos since he began working on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now the actor is using it to showcase new scenes from his upcoming Pacific Rim sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising.
In the new photo, it’s hard to tell what’s going on, but Boyega’s Jake Pentecost can be seen sitting pensively on some kind of bulkhead. In many ways it’s similar to the previous photo Boyega shared of his character, who could also be seen brooding.
Boyega didn’t add a caption to hint at what the image meant or when it might be from in the film, instead just using the “#Pentecost” hashtag that he’s used on previous photos. In the film, Boyega will play Jake Pentecost, the son of Idris Elba’s character from the first Pacific Rim.
His post comes just a couple of days after director Steven S. DeKnight shared the official logo for the movie on his Instagram account, which heavily resembles the look from the first movie but with the sequel’s title thrown into the mix.
Production is underway on the film, with other members of the cast sharing photos on Instagram and Twitter. Boyega and Scott Eastwood (who will also be in The Fate of the Furious) tend to post the most photos, including behind-the-scenes looks at how the film is being made. If you’re interested in keeping up with the “day-to-day” occurrences on the film’s set, it might be worth checking in on Instagram every now and again.
Pacific Rim: Uprising, which has Guillermo del Toro as an executive producer, will premiere Feb. 23, 2018.
