Ubisoft bringing Rabbids to VR with Google Daydream

Virtual Rabbids: The Big Plan will be out this year

Ubisoft announced today that it was bringing its beloved Rabbids to Google’s VR platform, Daydream, later this year.

Ubisoft Montpellier’s Loic Gounon and Fred Mizac took the stage during Google Developer Day at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco to debut Virtual Rabbids: The Big Plan. Gounon described the game, which is being developed by the creators of the 2006 game, Raving Rabbids, as a funny immersive experience.

In Virtual Rabbids: The Big Plan, players will “called upon by a classified government agency to travel through different locations in a hilarious adventure to recover the missing digits” that were stolen by a “few irreverent Rabbids,” according to a press release.

On stage, Gounon demonstrated some of the gameplay, going over a couple of different stages players will find themselves in. In one particular level, players will find themselves in a grocery store and must try to take items off of the shelves while Rabbids run around, getting in the way.

In another level, players stand in an operating room and use their motion-controlled headset to acquire surgical equipment from the Rabbids, who are running around the room. Players must nod whenever the Rabbids present them with an item they need to indicate that it is the correct tool.

Ubisoft doesn’t have a specific release date at this time, but the game will be available to purchase this spring for the Google Daydream.
