Mass Effect: Andromeda's planned "multiplayer tech test" has been scrapped, BioWare has announced.
The news came in a rundown of the studio's plans for PAX East, which is March 10-12 in Boston. Mass Effect: Andromeda's multiplayer will be playable on the expo's floor, BioWare said.
"Long story but right decision for how close we [are] to [being] live," Fernando Melo, a BioWare producer, said on Twitter. He followed that up with a look at the character selection screen:

BioWare confirmed a multiplayer mode for Mass Effect: Andromeda back in November, and took signups to participate in the beta back then.
Mass Effect Andromeda, the first game in the spacefaring RPG series since the original trilogy ended in 2012, launches March 21 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. Subscribers to either EA Access on Xbox One or Origin Access on PC will get a 10-hour preview of the game beginning March 16.
