HBO has released the first trailer for the seventh season of Game of Thrones and it’s all about war in Westeros.
The trailer follows each of the rivals gunning for the Iron Throne. Cersei Lannister is in the Red Keep, while Jon Snow takes his rightful position in the Great Hall of Winterfell. Daenerys Targaryen is in an unknown setting, but one that’s sure to get more light when the season finally premieres.
The trailer marks the first time we’re getting new footage, following HBO’s premiere reveal earlier this month. During an event that asked fans to patiently wait while a block of ice containing the date melted, HBO released a smaller teaser trailer, but none of the actors appeared on screen.
While this is new footage, it’s important to note that it’s probably not from the actual season. This is the first teaser trailer for the actual trailer that will debut in the coming months.
Game of Thrones returns for its seventh season on July 16.
