After what feels like an eternity of waiting, Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s panel at Star Wars Celebration is finally here and that means we’re just moments away from the first trailer ... hopefully.
[Note: The video above is currently playing a recap of day one events from the festival. It will kick into live coverage of day two, staring with The Last Jedi panel, just before 11 a.m. ET.]
The general theory shared among journalists, bloggers, fans and your friends who just won’t stop talking about it is that this panel makes for the perfect opportunity to reveal the trailer. Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy will be sitting down with director Rian Johnson to talk about the movie, potentially introduce some new cast members and finally post the trailer for all to see.
When Kennedy was asked about the trailer during a red carpet event for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first stand-alone anthology movie in the Star Wars universe, Kennedy wouldn’t give an exact date but did confirm that people would get their first glimpse of The Last Jedi in the spring.
Well, spring has sprung and there’s never been a more ideal time — or a more captivated audience — to release it to. If the trailer doesn’t drop, I suggest we gather in the comments and just write our own version of it. A group fan fiction therapy session where we create a world in which Han Solo never dies.
The Last Jedi panel kicks off at 11 a.m. ET. It can be watched in full above.
