Code Vein is a hardcore, vampire RPG from Bandai Namco

Prepare to dine, indeed

Bandai Namco Entertainment

Following last week’s bloody, aesthetic-heavy teaser, Bandai Namco has revealed a new action role-playing game. Called Code Vein, it’s due out next year, according to this week’s issue of Famitsu.

Gematsu translated the first details on Code Vein ahead of the full, worldwide reveal on April 20. The team that made the God Eater games is working on this future-set vampire adventure, whose heroes — called Revenants — have supernatural abilities that help them survive their dystopian society.

As vampires, the Revenants rely on bloodsucking to sustain themselves as they explore through dungeons in the pursuit of sating their bloodlust. (They’ll also have an AI-controlled buddy to hopefully help them on their quest.)

Code Vein is described as both difficult and dramatic, although players worldwide will have to wait until 2018 to find out exactly how. Bandai Namco is expected to release another trailer with more details and another look at the game this Thursday.
