Fire Emblem fans established their undying love for Ike, the star of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, in a very public way before Fire Emblem Heroes launched in February. More than three months later, those same fans will finally be able to collect Ike in the character-based mobile game.
Ike is the marquee hero of tomorrow’s new summoning event, which gives players their first chance to collect several Path of Radiance stars. They’ll also feature in a series of battle maps, so Heroes is really giving fans as much Ike exposure as possible.
Since Fire Emblem Heroes’ biggest conceit is its random grab bag of collectible characters, don’t expect actually winning Ike to be easy. That’s true of any of the game’s heroes, from the well-known — like Ike’s fellow Super Smash Bros. competitors Marth and Lucina — to the much less so.
Ike has come out on top as Fire Emblem’s most popular hero, thanks in no small part to his inclusion in the Super Smash Bros. games. Fans voted for two different iterations of Ike to take up top slots on the Fire Emblem Heroes’ popularity poll in January, and the winning version is set to receive a special in-game costume at some point this year.
