Bandai Namco Entertainment America will release Gundam Versus, a multiplayer fighting game based on the Mobile Suit Gundam universe, for PlayStation 4 in the Americas and Europe this fall, the publisher announced today.
That’s good — and potentially surprising — news for Gundam fans, who have been relegated to importing games in the Gundam Vs. series, which are typically released only in Japan. Western fans of the Gundam Vs. series’ brand of two-versus-two and three-versus-three battles have had to settle for the Japanese releases and Bandai Namco’s Rise of Incarnates, a Windows PC fighting game that was released — and subsequently shut down — in 2015. (Last year’s Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS-Force was released worldwide on PlayStation Vita.)
Bandai Namco promises “over 90 Mobile Suits spanning more than 35 years of the Mobile Suit Gundam universe” when Gundam Versus hits PS4 later this year.
