Someone show Disney this Tron-themed roller coaster sim right now

“Greetings, programs!”

Planet Coaster has been turned into the Tron-themed roller coaster ride of your dreams, complete with a synchronized soundtrack featuring lines from the original film.

Frontier Development’s theme park sim allows users to explore a single-player mode of course, where they can go into great detail with the care and feeding of their virtual amusement park. But it also features a creative mode, and the community that surrounds it is quite dedicated to their craft.

I talked a bit with Frontier’s team at this year’s PAX East, and as I understand it players often clip stock buildings into each other to create new shapes. YouTuber TommyT067 goes a big step further with a custom color palette that accurately recreates the look and feel of the classic 1982 film. The first-person experience also displays a great understanding of the kind of fan service a good amusement park ride should provide.

Incidentally, interest in Tron has been on the rise since Disney announced last month that a third movie is on the drawing board. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Suicide Squad star Jared Leto is being eyed for the main role

For now you can just turn off the lights, crank up the sound and go for a ride, program.

End of line.
