Toys R Us locations everywhere will be carrying limited quantities of the Nintendo Switch this Friday, May 19, a representative for the retailer told Polygon.
“All Toys R Us stores nationwide will have a limited inventory of the super-hot console” on that date, the spokesperson said. When we asked about online sales, the rep confirmed that the Switch units will be available only in Toys R Us stores, not through the retailer’s website.
“Much like our previous Nintendo Switch inventory drops, we recommend that customers get in line before doors open on Friday morning for a chance to purchase,” the spokesperson added. Most Toys R Us locations open at 10 a.m. local time, although if you’re looking to queue up outside your local store in the early morning hours, it might be a good idea to double-check the hours on the retailer’s website.
This Friday’s arrival of new Switch stock comes three weeks after the most recent one, when a bunch of retailers, including Toys R Us, received shipments of Switch units to coincide with the April 28 launch of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Nintendo’s new console, which is available with gray or “neon” red and blue Joy-Con controllers, costs $299.99.
