Grasshopper Manufacture is working on a remake of its episodic sequel to the company’s debut game, The Silver Case, the developer announced this weekend. The 25th Ward: The Silver Case is officially going into production, according to Grasshopper.
Outside of the announcement and a teaser trailer, Grasshopper didn’t provide much in the way of specifics. In an interview with Famitsu, Grasshopper founder and CEO Goichi Suda said The 25th Ward: The Silver Case, which is coming to Windows PC, will be more of a remake than a remaster.
The 25th Ward was originally released for Japanese mobile phones as an episodic sequel to The Silver Case between 2005 and 2007. The text-based adventure game ran over the course of three episodes consisting of five chapters each.
Grasshopper Manufacture released a localized remaster of The Silver Case for Windows PC in 2016. A version of that game came to PlayStation 4 earlier this year. Suda said prior to its release that if the remaster of The Silver Case found commercial success, Grasshopper would consider returning to The 25th Ward.
