You can leave once the credits roll

If it seems like every movie these days has a post-credits scene audiences have to stick around for, Wonder Woman is looking to go against the grain.

Warner Bros.’ next installment in the DC Universe won’t have a post-credits scene, according to producer Charles Roven. Roven told Cinema Blend the studio wasn’t against including the tease; after all, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but they didn’t want to force the inclusion.

“I'm not going to say we'd never do one ... There was one in Suicide Squad. But I don't think that we want to feel that we're forced to do something just because we didn't in the past,” Roven said.

The post-credits scene has become a bit of a tradition in most superhero movies, but is found more often in Marvel movies. Marvel’s most recent film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 had five post-credit scenes. Other studios, like Fox, have also given their take on the post-credit scene. Logan featured a pre-credits scene and Deadpool used its post-credit scene to pay homage to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and mock the audience.

Wonder Woman will be released on June 2. Early reactions to the film are calling it one of the best in Warner Bros.’ DC Universe.
