Alien: Covenant, the followup to 2012’s Prometheus, is receiving pretty warm praises ahead of its release.
The film had its world premiere in London, England last night and many in attendance began tweeting their immediate reactions after the lights came up. The biggest trend that can be gauged from the reaction is that Alien: Covenant fixes what Prometheus got wrong. Covenant is apparently much scarier than Prometheus, and feels like a traditional Alien movie.
Ridley Scott brings back the series to its roots! Visuals are top notch a complete win in IMAX #AlienCovenant

First impressions. More satisfying than Prometheus. Last act little messy re: the Aliens. Loved the cast and characters. #AlienCovenant

ALIEN COVENANT. The entire time I was watching it just thought: "There's no way I'll be operating on the level Ridley Scott is when I'm 79".

#AlienCovenant is gorgeous & frightening. Ridley's world-building skills are insane. Fassbenderx2 FTW

#AlienCovenant is an intense, strange and nightmarish continuation of the franchise. A great companion to Prometheus & the Alien mythos.

There were a couple of people, however, who thought that some of the scenes’ execution could have used tightening. A few critics described it as messy and, even those who really enjoyed it, argued that like Prometheus, there will be some audiences who don’t like Covenant as much as the original films.
So alien covenant. Goes as you'd expect, but the execution is messier than you'd think.

I don’t think everyone will love Alien: Covenant. Some will probably hate it. It’s a complex film and one you’ll be talking about after.

Alien: Covenant follows a crew of explorers aboard a colony ship called the Covenant as they set off on a journey to a remote planet on the other side of the universe. It’s during this mission that they discover an “unchartered paradise.” After spending time exploring the area, however, they soon learn about a monstrous threat they must escape before being completely wiped out.
Alien: Covenant will be released on May 19.
