A gold-colored PlayStation 4 is reportedly hitting retail next week, according to two different Reddit threads. The gold PS4 may arrive on retail shelves as soon as June 9. One image also shows a new, lower price point.
One Walmart shopper spotted the 1 TB console with matching controller in the wild with a price tag of $249. When he went to purchase it, the employees of that store reportedly quickly secreted it away. At almost exactly the same time, someone who said they were a Target employee posted that they found a listing for the unit in their computer system. No pricing information was shared.
A matching gold DualShock 4 has also appeared on the Best Buy website. It’s listed at $64.99.

The consoles, at least, appear to have been revealed in error. The Walmart shopper says that the register locked up when they tried to make the purchase.
Sony is expected to have lots of announcements at their E3 press conference, which takes place on June 12 at 9 pm ET.
