Coming first to PlayStation 4

Activision will release a stand-alone version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered — available both physically and digitally — on June 27. The game will be available first on PlayStation 4, with Windows PC and Xbox One versions to follow.

The stand-alone release will cost $39.99 and will not include the Modern Warfare Remastered Variety Map Pack.

Activision did not provide release dates for the Windows PC and Xbox One versions of the game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered was originally released alongside last year’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The remaster of 2007’s Call of Duty 4 was only available as part of Infinite Warfare’s Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe editions.

Activision said in a release that it has a special event called Call of Duty “Days of Summer” planned for Modern Warfare Remastered players to commemorate the launch.

The five-week community celebration begins June 27th and will feature a bevy of in-game giveaways, XP events and new playlists across multiple titles, including a new summer-themed map for Modern Warfare Remastered that will be available through the duration of the event, along with much more to be announced on Tuesday.
