Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle trailer is all about the dangers of old school video games

Or the dangers of getting sucked into a game ... literally

After months of teasing, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has a trailer.

Unlike the first Jumanji, which starred Robin Williams and told the story of a group terrorized by the chaos brought on by a cursed board game, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will feel slightly more modern. The game in question, also called Jumanji, is an old video game that four high school students discover. They get sucked into the game, taking on the role of different characters in the virtual setting, forced to play through it in order to get back to their own world.

The movie, which lead actor Dwayne Johnson has been promoting for months on Instagram and Twitter, drew some controversy in January. After the first photo of the cast was released, seen above, people pointed out that Karen Gillan’s outfit exposed more than her male counterparts’. Both Johnson and Gillan later defended the costume, adding that it would all make sense once people saw the movie.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will be released on Dec. 20.
