Twitch will livestream the James Comey hearing as an experiment with its News channel, the Amazon-owned streaming service announced today.

Comey, the former director of the FBI, was relieved of his position by President Donald Trump on May 9. The interactions between the two men are the subject of a highly anticipated hearing today, in which Comey will testify in front of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT. You can watch the testimony on Twitch’s News channel.

“When we live streamed the Republican and Democratic National Conventions on Twitch last year, followed by a broadcast from the White House, our community had the opportunity to engage in civic-minded content, while conversing with one another in chat,” said Brian Petrocelli, product marketing manager for Twitch, in a statement to Polygon. “Because they enthusiastically embraced this interactive public service experiment, it inspired us to experiment further with a News channel dedicated to bi-partisan landmark events beginning with the Comey hearings.”

In his prepared opening statement for the hearing, which was posted online yesterday, Comey confirmed media reports indicating that Trump tried to influence the FBI’s investigation into disgraced ex-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn — an action that could be seen as obstruction of justice. Comey also said he was uncomfortable with Trump’s attempts to “create some sort of patronage relationship” with him, an unusual strategy because the FBI director — while it’s a person appointed by the president — is traditionally a more independent role that is walled off from politics.

As for watching Comey’s testimony on Twitch, the service noted in a blog post that it will be “protecting everyone’s experience with the highest level of AutoMod in addition to our professional moderation team.”
