XCOM 2, perhaps the finest game in the franchise’s history, is teasing something new. A press release issued today says they will “make a major announcement exclusive to the PC Gaming Show stage.”

Their social media team has posted a cryptic image on Steam and on Twitter claiming that, “the real war begins” on June 12, during the PC Gaming Show.

Released nearly a year and a half ago, XCOM 2 has had a good run so far. It kicked off with a steady stream of downloadable content including new outfits for troops and extensive new in-game storylines. It later culminated with the much-anticipated total conversion called Long War 2. It was a complete reimagining of the game, from the mission structure to the soldier abilities.

But since January of this year the team has been relatively silent. We haven’t had any inklings of what might be in store for the reveal other than a press release that promises something exclusive to the PC Gaming Show. It could be another piece of DLC like Alien Hunters, or it could be a new mod. You’ll find out with the rest of us on June 12 at 10 a.m. PT.
